On Thursday, July 5, on the second day of the Russian-Emirates Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation, which was held in Kazan, the regional investment projects were reviewed. The Deputy General Director of the Development Corporation Oleg Skvortsov and the Head of the Representative Office of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region under the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Saliy told the expert commission about the initiatives to create the Dry Port in the Chernyakhovsk industrial park and the construction of the hotel complex.
"Delegation of the Kaliningrad region was first entrusted with presenting promising investment initiatives. Following the results of the review, which was held in English, the members of the commission highly assessed their thoroughness and recommended to include them in the final protocol of the past round of negotiations between the representatives of the relevant departments of the two countries. At the same time, members of the commission from the UAE guaranteed to convey information about Kaliningrad projects to potential investors", Oleg Skvortsov noted.
According to him, on the same day he managed to meet with a representative of the Ministry of the Environment of the UAE. He was interested in projects related to agriculture. "This Arab country is experiencing a deficit in its own agricultural lands, and therefore has its enterprises and companies engaged in growing the necessary agricultural products in many regions of the world. The Kaliningrad region, its geographical position, the availability of ports, tax preferences of the SEZ, makes attractive the implementation of investment projects in the agricultural sector ", - Oleg Skvortsov said.
In the future, work on the projects already announced by the expert commission will continue. Its participants recommended expanding the list of projects prepared for the level of interstate cooperation. Producers of the region will be able to provide presentation materials about their enterprises to foreign partners in the very near future", Denis Saliy commented.
It should be noted that the intergovernmental Russian-Emirates Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation meets at least twice a year and contributes to creating conditions for cooperation between countries in the fields of industry, energy, space, transport, information technology and communications , shipbuilding, aircraft building, development of industrial parks, production of construction and composite materials. From 4 to 5 July another round of work of commission members was held in Kazan.
