ABOUT THE SITE

"Technopolis GS" is the only private innovation cluster in Russia. It is located in Gusev, Kaliningrad region. The development area is 230 hectares. The investor is GS Group holding company. The cluster realizes a full cycle of production of microelectronics and consumer electronics. The capacities of enterprises allow producing up to 20 million microchips and up to 5 million household radio electronic products per year. There are R & D and educational centers, a modern residential area and an art center, a "smart infrastructure" and a unique creative environment. Complex educational projects are realized on the cluster site: vocational guidance programs and international competitions in mathematics and physics for schoolchildren are held; a university campus is being established in the field of engineering and technical sciences.

Technopolis GS is a successful example of how the urban environment of a small city is transformed under the influence of transformations conducted by a Russian private corporation. In the implementation of the project, best practices for the development of territories, developed in conjunction with the leading urban centers, were used.
